At the first meeting of the Maine Space Corporation, held at TechPlace in Brunswick on June 27, the board of directors adopted by-laws, elected officers, and took other actions focused on the future. Fourteen months after the governor signed its enabling legislation into law, the entity aims to establish stable funding before the end of 2023.
The Maine Space Grant Consortium will provide administrative support while the corporation continues organizing and planning. This arrangement is expected to be temporary; the corporation’s board intends to move executive administration outside of the consortium within 2 years.
The inaugural executive committee of the Maine Space Corporation is:
- Dawn DiBlasi, Esq., Chair
- Kristine Logan, Vice Chair
- Scott Wardwell, Secretary
- James Brann, Treasurer
The board of directors also heard a progress report from members of the Maine Space 2030 team.
