MO-122 went silent on August 25, 2025. Telemetry data ceased after 19:09 UTC (3:09 PM EDT) and reports to the AMSAT live satellite status page went from consistently “active” to exclusively “not heard.” No positive reports have been made in the ensuing 3 weeks.
The AMSAT News Service reported on August 31 that telemetry obtained prior to the disappearance showed “nothing suspect or out of the ordinary.” The service also reported that the AMSAT command team and UMaine were investigating.
Before the blackout, 70 stations had uploaded 195,772 telemetry frames to the database, as tracked on the AMSAT leaderboard. Two-thirds of those reports (129,442 frames) came from the top 5 receiving stations: WA7FWF, N8MH, AL7ID, VK2ZAZ, and K4OZS.
